The cutter-rigged Panda 38 is a classically styled, medium-displacement, full-keeled, bluewater cruiser. She is a stunningly beautiful boat that points well and sails easily. She is also astonishingly comfortable at sea or at dockside. Described as a “Passagemaking Princess” in the February 2010 issue of Cruising World, her cabin exudes the classy warmth of Henry Higgins’ library in teak cabinetry, sunburst inlay dining table, and solid-teakwood staving. This particular boat also boasts custom birch overhead, black walnut inlaid companionway steps and accent pieces, as well as black cherry pinrails in her shrouds. She has been on fresh or brackish water for the second half of her life, shows no corrosion or rust, has never had a hull blister or damage, and has been well maintained and upgraded by all three of her owners. | Kacie Wallace and Kimberley Sutton put out an ad several weeks ago for boat support as they paddle from SC to VA to promote ocean health and the impact of plastic pollution along our coastline.
This is Kacie and Kim and we need some sound advice from TownDock locals... we've have made it 1/2 way and are now in River Dunes Marina with problems with our support boat. As we ponder continuing on, we have been warned about wildlife in the Alligator Canal/River and wonder what local boaters would say about any potential danger, i.e., alligators for paddleboarders? Also, if anyone is available going either north to south, or vice versa, between Bellhaven and Coinjock, or the VA border (Carrituck) and wouldn't mind 2 paddlers tagging along at about 4-5 mph over the next couple days, please email kacie.wallace@gmail.com or kimberleysutton@yahoo.com.
