Oriental’s History Museum puts the focus on cameras with a display of a number of pre-digital cameras from the 20th century. Some were owned by Oriental resident Wolf Umbach who passed away in January. The exhibit also now includes other vintage cameras from the collection of photojournalist Andrea Bruce, along with several of her award-winning photos. (Andrea went to high School here in Pamlico County and while her work takes her all over the world to cover wars and disasters, she is once again calling Oriental home.) This special display will be up through early December. Oriental’s History Museum is located at 802 Broad St. Museum hours on Thanksgiving Weekend are 1-3p, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Stop on by and see how the 5 year old museum has expanded its other collections. (And help count the rings of the Artesian Oak — some pieces of the trunk are out in front of the museum.) Admission is always free.
