Coming
in second in Class A and overall was Bill Kirsch on "Zip",
an Ensign 264, while Bert Quays Ranger 23, "Giggles
& Sweat" finished third overall and first in Class
B.
Finishing third in Class A was Margaret Alexander, on her SJ21,
Orion. Margaret was the only woman in the race.

In Class

Ranger 25, and third to "Anticipation", an Elite 23
helmed by Eddie Parker.

placed third behind Pin High in Class B
|
In C-class,
two J-boats topped the list. Jeff Rogers J-30 Siholo took
first, with Ken Lury skippering J-80 "Critical Mass"
in second. Ed Blisss Sabre 362, "Out of the Blue"
took third.
A few cruising boats competed in the C-class, making a valiant
effort. Fannasea, captained by Kent Fann represented slower
cruising boats everywhere. The Valiant 40 rounded out the top
25.

Fannasea
would have been a fan of a bit more wind
|
The solo
racers day began with a captains meeting at the
new Oriental Harbor Marina for the 25 captains. Somehow, their
number doubled during the post-race celebration at the Topside
Lounge.
As with
the Oriental Cup Regatta and the Womens Invitational in
September, the weather cooperated for yet another weekend of
sailboat racing off of Oriental.
