Notice of Race; April 30, & May 1, 2005

21st Annual Clark Cup Sailing Regatta

Blackbeard Sailing Club, New Bern, North Carolina

(An ICRC Team Event)

 

Rules:  This regatta will be governed by (2005-2008) The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing and the rules of the respective class associations, except as altered by the Sailing Instructions.

 

Classes:  This is an open regatta.  Expected classes include: PHRF Spinnaker, Non-spinnaker & Cruising, San Juan 21, Sunfish, Junior Sunfish, Flying Scot, Laser, JY-15, Vanguard 15, Tanzer 16, Optimist, Isotope, etc.  Three boats will constitute a class.  PHRF boats must have a valid NCPHRF Rating Certificate. One Design classes will race in the creek at the discretion of the Race Committee. PHRF courses will be in the Neuse river. Limited dockage may be available.

 

Registration:  Registration fees will be $20.00 for junior sailors (age 16 and under), $30.00 for adult single-handed boats, $35.00 for all others.  US Sailing members, may deduct  $5.00 upon providing member number.

Late Registration fee: $5.00 (after April 27)

 

Schedule:  Friday,     April 29    The club will be open at noon.  Limited camping and dockage is    available.

 

            Saturday, April 30    08:30 – 11:00   Late registration.  Coffee and donuts served in the clubhouse. 

                                                                 

                                          11:00  AM      Skippers Meeting.

No Pets please!                        TBA               First Warning Signal & times for the various classes will be

         announced at skippers meeting. Subsequent race(s) 

                                                                to follow at the discretion of the Race Committee.

                                                  6:00  PM      (Or thereabouts) Refreshments available to quench your thirst.

                                                  6:30  PM       Seafood & chicken Dinner.

                  Sunday,  May 1         9:30  AM       First Warning Signal, subsequent race(s) to follow at the

                                                                      discretion of the Race Committee.

                                                  2:00  PM       Awards Ceremony. (SHARP)

The undersigned agrees to be bound by (2005-2008)The Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern this event.  The undersigned also hereby assumes all risks of accidents and expressly agrees that Blackbeard Sailing Club (hereinafter called the sponsors) shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss or injury to participants or others, or for the loss of or damage to any boat, and the undersigned hereby further agrees to indemnify and hold the sponsors free and harmless under, from and against any and all losses, costs, damages, attorney’s fees and liability of any kind or nature whatsoever growing our of or resulting from participating in the above race.
