NOTICE OF RACE

DRAGONS BREATH REGATTA

ICRC TEAM EVENT, 2005

Organized by: Oriental Dinghy Club www.OrientalDinghyClub.com

· Date: Saturday & Sunday 8/06/05 & 8/07/05

· Racing Area: Courses will be laid out in Oriental area of the Neuse River Waters.

· Registration/Check In: Late Registration and check in on the deck of the Oriental Marina, 4-6pm. Friday August 5 and Saturday August 6, 7:30 to 8:30 am.

· First Race Warning Signal: First race warning signal will be at 11:00. Starting order to be announced at the captains meeting. Race instructions will be available at the captains meeting and on ODC website (address above). Sunday’s warning will be at 10:00am.

· Skippers Meeting: Deck of the Oriental Marina Saturday, 8/06/05 at 0900 SHARP!!

· Eligibility: Open Regatta: Expected classes: PHRF vessels, both Spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes, Cruising, San Juan 21’s, J-24’s, and Ensigns.

· Rules: US Sailing Rules of Racing 2005-2008 publication

· Entry Form and Fees: Per attached. NOTE: To avoid a late registration fee, call or e-mail your Intent to Race with all data required by 8/01/05 & present completed documents on or before the skipper’s meeting (contacts listed below)

· Safety: (1) All vessels must comply with USCG safety requirements.

(2) Races will be cancelled or postponed with sustained winds in excess of 25 knots or in the event of a severe weather notice given by NOAA.

· Social: At the completion of racing Saturday, at approximately 4:30 PM, beer and soda will be served on the deck of the Oriental Marina at the Tiki Bar. A Chicken and Crab dinner (5:30 pm) will be held on the deck of the Oriental Marina. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased with your race entry form – advance information required with your “Intent to Race” or Entry Form.

Racing Classes:

Class 1 - PHRF Spinnaker -- Placed Marked Courses

Class 2 - PHRF Non Spinnaker Performance -- Placed Marked Courses

Class 3 - PHRF Non Spinnaker Cruising -- Placed Marked Courses

Class 4 - Ensign --Placed marked courses

Class 5 - San Juan 21-- Placed marked courses

Class 6 - J-24-- Placed marked courses

Classes 1 thru 3 may have multiple divisions depending on the number of entries.

Classes 4 thru 6 require a 4 boat minimum to constitute a class.

· Trophies – Awards will be made upon completion of the series on the deck of the Oriental Marina, Sunday at the end of racing, approximately 2:30 PM.

· Dock Space for Out of Town Vessels: We have some limited dock spaces available (at no charge) on a first call first get basis. The Oriental Marina and the Oriental Harbor Marina have dock space available as well as what is available at the Town Dock (probable rafting). Henry Frazer’s Docks at the end of White Farm road on Whitaker Creek are being offered for this Regatta at $50 per boat for 2 nights. Transportation to town is necessary. Late Registration Fee: $15 added to the above schedule unless you have called or e-mailed “Intent To Race” by August 1!!!

Meal Tickets: Due to ordering requirements for crab& Chicken, meal ticket orders must accompany “Intent to race” or entry form. Meal tickets may not be available at late registration.

I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the event. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry or by my being permitted to take part, I agree to waive all claims against the Oriental Dinghy Club, its organizers and their respective agents, officials, servants and representatives in respect to death, injury loss or damage to my person or property however caused arising out of or in connection with my taking part in this event notwithstanding that the same may be caused by or occasioned by the negligence of the same bodies or any of them or their agents, officials, servants or representatives. I furthermore understand and agree that this Release is binding upon myself, my crew, my heirs executors and assigns.
