Olwen and Bill Jarvis display the oar from one of the sailboats that rescued soldiers from Dunkirk 70 years ago. The oar found its way to Fairfield Harbor and gives the upcoming Oar Race its name. That New Bern to Oriental regatta is paired on Labor Day weekend with the Michelob Cup which makes the return trip to New Bern. This year marks the return of the Michelob Cup after an absence of several years.
